Description
The Rice Grist Mill was originally built by James Rice and his sons in 1798 along Lost Creek in Union County, Tennessee. The mill stayed in the Rice family until 1935 when the Tennessee Valley Authority purchased the land on which the mill stood for the proposed Norris Dam. The entire structure was disassembled and rebuilt along Clear Creek, on the grounds of the present-day Norris Dam State Park.
