Description
An abandoned colonial style log house in the Joppa Mountain community (on Hwy. 11W) in Grainger County, Tennessee – built in 1848 by James Walker. After his death, it changed hands several times and was renovated around 1900 by adding a double front porch, siding, and ginger bread trim. County Judge Charles K. Ellis owned the home until 1973. It is currently owned by the Odom family of Grainger County.
